Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a evidenced base treatment modality that integrates principles and practices of mindfulness and grounding strategies (resourcing) paired with bilateral stimulation, often tapping or eye movements, to support improved neural connections. The treatment addresses to re-orient traumatic or stressful memories with bilateral stimulation to help the information and memories stored in the subconscious to become more adaptive. While I offer EMDR in a condensed 50 minute weekly or bi-weekly sessions I find the process to be streamlined best in 3-4 hour multi 3 consecutive day format. This option is ideal for those wishing to resolve incidences of trauma and distressing symptoms as soon as possible. It is also beneficial for those interested in addressing single incident recent traumas, or as an adjunct service to ongoing therapy to resolve specific trauma events.
