Service Description

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a evidenced base treatment modality that integrates principles and practices of mindfulness and grounding strategies (resourcing) paired with bilateral stimulation, often tapping or eye movements, to support improved neural connections. The treatment addresses to organize traumatic or stressful memories with bilateral stimulation to help the information and memories stored in the subconscious to be more adaptive. While I can offer EMDR in a condensed 50 minute weekly or bi-weekly sessions I find the process can be offered in 3 hour monthly, multi-day, weekly, or bi-weekly format on a case by case basis. This option is may be ideal for those interested in brief EMDR therapy as a stand alone treatment, addressing single incident traumas, or as an adjunct services to resolve specific trauma events. In this case, I would work closely in conjunction with your ongoing therapist to consult and ensure we resolve the specific trauma memories. I offer EMDR treatment primarily and the Flash technique in conjunction and as a part of EMDR treatment. Flash technique is a memory re-consolidation approach as part of resourcing safety and is used conjunction with EMDR treatment offering to lower the distress with a chosen target situation. This occurs prior to reprocessing the chosen memory event to help decrease the distress and to allow the connection to adaptive information to be more efficient. You can learn more about this technique here:
